Jay’s Mobile Mechanic (“we”, “us”) is a mobile auto repair business based in Long Beach, California. This policy explains what information we collect through jaysmm.tech, what we do with it, and the choices you have. In short: we use your details to answer your request, we only email you offers if you ask us to, and we never sell your information.
What we collect
When you send a quote request, we collect what you type into the form:
- Your name, phone number, email address and ZIP code
- Your vehicle’s year, make and model, and a description of the problem
- Any photos you choose to attach
- Your preferred contact method and times
- Whether you’ve opted in to marketing emails
Like most websites, our hosting provider also records basic technical information automatically, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited. We use your IP address and the time of your request to block spam and to keep a record of any marketing consent you give.
We don’t use advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this site.
How we use it
- To reply to your request, prepare a quote and schedule a visit
- To email you a copy of what you submitted
- To keep records of the work we quote and carry out
- To protect the site from spam and abuse
- To send marketing emails, but only if you opted in (see below)
Marketing emails
The quote form includes an optional, unticked box for service reminders and special offers. You can get a quote without ticking it. If you do opt in, we record the date, time and wording you agreed to.
Every marketing email we send will identify us, include our mailing address, and give you a simple way to unsubscribe. You can also reply “unsubscribe” or email jay@jaysmm.tech at any time. We’ll stop within 10 business days. Unsubscribing from marketing doesn’t affect messages about a job you’ve asked us to do.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with other businesses for their own marketing. We only share it with service providers that help us run the business, and only so they can do that job:
- Hostinger, which hosts this website and our email
- Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces on this site and receives your IP address when the page loads
- An email marketing service, if you opt in to marketing emails. We’ll name it here once we start using one.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
California “Shine the Light”: because we don’t share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing, we have nothing to report under California Civil Code §1798.83.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and job records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet our tax and business record-keeping obligations. After that we delete them. Photos you attach are emailed to us and not stored on the website. We keep marketing contacts until you unsubscribe, and then we keep only the minimum needed to make sure we don’t email you again.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Submissions are stored outside the public website, and the site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so please don’t include sensitive details such as payment card numbers in the form.
Your choices
- See or correct your information: email us and we’ll send you what we hold or update it.
- Delete your information: email us and we’ll delete it, unless we need to keep a record of work we did for you.
- Stop marketing emails: use the unsubscribe link, or reply “unsubscribe”.
Do Not Track: some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. This site doesn’t track you across other websites, so it treats every visitor the same way whether or not the signal is on.
Children: this site is for adults arranging car repairs. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the effective date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you’ve already given us, we’ll ask for your consent where the law requires it.
